Three things in life are certain: death, taxes, and Brits looking to buy hot tubs when a lockdown could be on the cards.
New data from EZ Shopper has found that hot tub interest has recently spiked as a direct result of the new restrictions in some parts of the country.
Searches for “hot tubs for sale” in the UK went through the roof on 18th December, the same day that restriction measures were announced, sparking fears that a 2022 lockdown is looming.
Clearly, Brits had no time to waste, jumping straight on to Google to buy themselves a bit of lockdown luxury.
“As a hot tub retailer, you can expect seasonality in sales. Usually, we see an influx of hot tub purchases at the start of summer as people prepare to make the most of their gardens, or in January when Brits are splashing their Christmas cash. But with various lockdowns taking place over the past two years, it’s been a whole new ball game.”
“Throughout the pandemic, hot tub sales were fully determined by the lockdown restrictions in place at the time. A hot tub can be a big investment but this data suggests that when preparing to spend more time at home than ever, Brits are more than comfortable with the expense as they know that they’ll really be able to make the most of it.
“Since the lockdown measures across the country have been announced, we’ve seen an obvious increase in traffic on our website. Clearly, Brits are still on the hunt to deck out their homes as future travel restrictions, and the future of 2022 in general, is unclear.”
